Job Summary

In coordination with Executive Director, oversees operations of The Center for Workforce Development and Continuing Education. Assists with the creation of proposals to companies for Nashville State to deliver training and supports all contract training projects.

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Actively participates in all stages of project planning for contracted trainings: initiate, plan, develop, monitor, complete
  • Attends meetings as assigned and then be tasked with project development and completion
  • Provides oversight of program implementation including all activities, outputs, and outcomes related to project management and administration, including reporting, budget development and monitoring, financial transactions, execution of project plans, and project performance
  • Ensures that the contracted training programs are technically sound, evidence-based, and meet established program outcomes
  • Coordinates logistics of various programs within the office of Workforce Development including room scheduling, internal and external communication, instructor assignment, student correspondence
  • Manages the hiring process for workforce instructors
  • Creates and maintains financial spreadsheets for the Center and tracks revenues/expenses
  • Oversees the evaluation process for open enrollment and contract courses
  • Develops project tracking to keep team informed of work
  • Develops and tracks outcome metrics for workforce programs and contracted training
  • Provides updates on projects to the Executive Director
  • Gathers data and information related to potential and ongoing projects
  • Creates and manages open enrollment classes at various locations
  • Monitors quality and quantity of services by developing data collection systems and regularly evaluating progress toward meeting the objective and deliverables of the program or project
  • Represents the Executive Director of Workforce as needed in meetings, events, and conferences
  • Developing and executing new growth directives
  • Liaising with department and interdepartmental employees to ensure compliance with contracted programs
  • Overseeing client support services
  • Assists with managing relationships/ agreements with external partners/ clients
  • May supervise staff and or student workers
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Strong follow up skills
  • Extremely detail oriented and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Competence in managing a budget and working with spreadsheets
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven problem solver who can make clear-headed decisions while under pressure
  • Ability to establish work processes that result in consistent and accurate outcomes
  • Ability to work effectively with executives and other key employees
  • Ability to deliver programs in a variety of locations which may require transportation, lifting, and carrying equipment and supplies

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from a Regionally accredited institution
  • Demonstrated experience in developing training programs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in managing time sensitive based projects
