Job Summary
Mercy Community Healthcare has an immediate opening for a high impact Community Relations and Event Specialist to work in an environment where they can make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Summary: This position is responsible for coordinating Mercy’s fundraising events, overseeing the donor database, engaging in donor solicitation, and community outreach.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Fundraising Events
- Responsible for the planning, budgeting, and implementation of all fundraising events
- Collaborate with Marketing and Public Relations to promote awareness and participation in events
- Research and secure local corporate sponsorships
- Work closely with the event chairs, volunteers and committees to ensure successful events
- Research, recommend, negotiate and contract with all external vendors for event execution
- Utilize in-person, phone and email contact to engage donors and sponsors
Donor Database Management
- Proficiency with fundraising and donor management software (CRM)
- Donation processing and tax acknowledgements
- Research current and prospective donors
- Implement data-entry procedures to ensure data consistency and quality
Donor Solicitation and Development
- Develop and execute donor solicitation activities via email, direct mail and social media
- Cultivate and maintain community and church partnerships
Community outreach and education
- Represent Mercy to various community organizations
- Interact with stakeholders in manner that promotes Mercy in the community
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: For consideration for this position, applicants must have: (1) A minimum of 3 years of experience in fundraising or development, preferably within a non-profit organization; (2) A proven track record of overseeing fundraising events and working with volunteers; and (3) Proficiency managing a donor CRM database.
