Job Summary

Position Objective:  The Associate Director, Leadership Donor Engagement, contributes to the efforts of United Way of Greater Nashville (UWGN) by stewarding current leadership donors and building a strong pipeline for both increased gifts and new leadership donors. This position is responsible for the strategic direction of affinity groups and will work alongside the Senior Director of Donor Engagement  to support stewardship of our most generous donors, members of the Tocqueville Society Alpha Chapter.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifies and solicits prospective leadership donors to increase awareness of the work of UWGN with the intention of securing additional revenues. Expectation for this role is to spend most of employee’s time “in the field” with donors and to take initiative to set up these interactions.
  • Manages a portfolio of donors giving between $2,500-$9,999  (3,000+) Responsible for stewardship of this group to strengthen relationships with these donors. Must have the ability to prioritize the stewardship of this group in a way that will best support UWGN.
  • Utilizes donor research tools to identify prospective donors for stewardship.
  • Provides strategic direction for United Way Affinity Groups: Young Leaders Society and Patricia Hart Society.
  • Manages the Donor and Affinity coordinator in their work planning, organizing, and overseeing United Way affinity groups, events, and/or programs to help ensure all events are exceptionally executed and meet the expectations of the organization and external stakeholders.
  • Solicits corporate sponsorship opportunities for affinity group events.
  • Partners with the Senior Director of Donor Engagement to steward leadership donors up the giving pipeline to Tocqueville Society membership levels.
  • Communicates with the UWGN Community Impact and Marketing Departments on areas for collaboration to develop materials that ensure campaign success.
  • Has a strong passion for fulfilling the UWGN mission of seeing all thrive. The expectation for this role is a strong curiosity about the community conditions that United Way works to address and to stay abreast on current events that effect those conditions.   

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing or related field
  • Experience:
    • Individual Fundraising: 5 years
    • Project Management
    • Public Speaking
    • Familiarity and experience with donor research tools
  • Skills:
    • Strong comfort level and background working with C-Suite and community leaders.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Strong decision-making skills
    • Strong ability to work independently
    • Recognizes the importance and advantages of teamwork
    • Written, verbal, and technological communication
    • Ability to build reports in Excel
    • Proficiency with all Microsoft Office products
  • Additional:
    • A valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
