Job Summary
The Economic and Racial Justice Community Coordinator (Coordinator) manages volunteers and community partnerships to support and expand program areas for Workers’ Dignity, a community-based worker center fighting for economic and racial justice for all.
The Economic and Racial Justice Community Coordinator serves with a 30-member cohort of community-focused individuals who receive skills training, professional development, and networking opportunities through a partnership between Workers’ Dignity and Hands On Nashville, Middle Tennessee’s volunteer resource center.
The Hands On Nashville AmeriCorps program is made possible through the support of the Dan and Margaret Maddox Fund, Volunteer Tennessee, and participating AmeriCorps host organizations.

Job Responsibilities
Workers’ Dignity is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Economic and Racial Justice Community Coordinator with an interest in workers’ rights, community organizing, social justice, and community engagement. The Coordinator will manage Workers’ Dignity’s volunteer program and community partnerships for the workers’ compensation education program.
Workers’ Dignity seeks an individual who believes people who are directly impacted by oppression should be the ones who determine the solutions they need. The Coordinator will refine and expand the agency’s volunteer and community partner management system, orientations, and database. The Coordinator should have project and data management skills, attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and patience and flexibility. The ideal candidate will be English/Spanish bilingual and have experience working with BIPOC and working-class individuals. The Coordinator will gain experience with volunteer management, developing communications for multiple audiences, facilitation and public speaking, and working in a multilingual environment.
- Develop volunteer management systems, including but not limited to recruitment strategies, orientation and onboarding processes, data management, and evaluation mechanisms.
- Organize and facilitate regular partnership meetings for the Workers’ Dignity workers’ compensation education program, including groups like Vanderbilt Law School, the TN Office of Workers’ Compensation, and others as appropriate.
- Identify new opportunities for community partnerships to expand services and programmatic reach for existing Workers’ Dignity programs.
- Assist with client intake and follow up as needed.
- Develop systems for regularly collecting data to track metrics and benchmarks for program areas.
Qualifications
The Hands On Nashville AmeriCorps Program is designed for entry-level or experienced professionals interested in a career in nonprofit management. You have amazing skills. We will teach you how to put them to work for the greater good.

Minimum Requirements
- Commitment to fulfill a one-year term of service (August 16, 2021 – July 29, 2022)
- Some college coursework preferred. Experience can be accepted in lieu of education.
- Reliable access to transportation (Members will be reimbursed for service-related mileage.)
- U.S. Citizen, National, or Lawful Permanent Resident
- National Service Criminal History Check clearance
