Job Summary
Mission: Harvest hands CDC is a catalyst for Christ-centered community development working for wholeness in South Nashville. We work alongside our neighbors to further heath living, education, spiritual formation, and economic development in South Nashville.
Description: Consistent with the mission of Harvest Hands CDC and under the direction of the Youth Program Coordinator, the Part-Time Assistant is responsible for implementing activities and executing daily curriculum for participants. The Part-Time Assistant will work with other site staff and volunteers to support participants in their holistic development.
Job Responsibilities
- Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of participants through positive relationships, empowerment, and mentoring.
- Actively lead and engage a group of children or youth in activities outlined by the Program Directors. Assist with behavior regulation.
- Attend and actively participate in program meetings and in-service trainings, as required by program staff.
- Maintain positive relationships with Harvest Hands personnel, participants, volunteers, and families.
- Ensure the safety of all participants at all times. Maintain organization policies and procedures.
- Assume duties as directed by the Youth Program Coordinator and program staff.
Program Dates:
Spring Semester: January 10 – May 25
Fall Semester: August 23 – December 15
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 2pm-6pm, Friday- 2pm-5:30pm (8-20 hours a week)
Qualifications
Preferred Majors:
- Social Work
- Education
- Ministerial Studies
- Nonprofit Leadership/Management
- Sports Management
- Leadership Development
Minimum Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to relate effectively to people from all social and economic backgrounds.
- A desire to build relationships with young people in South Nashville.
- Minimum of 18 years old or have completed first year of college.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Attended new hire orientation and training.
