Job Summary

The Accounting Sr. Manager is responsible for the performing a variety of accounting related functions, to include, monthly financial reporting, account reconciliations, journal entry processing,  and budget & audit support. The position supervises accounts payable processing, payroll processing and revenue posting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review and approve journal entries and supporting documentation; enter earned income, receivables and journal entries into accounting software, checking for correct balance
  • Review and approve biweekly payroll and manage relationship with payroll provider
  • Track cash and credit cards daily across  ASC bank accounts and keep an updated cash forecast
  • Maintain accounts payable positive pay files and handle all exceptions
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of membership, contribution and pledge data between gift processing system and the accounting system
  • Assist in development and maintenance of processes for entering data to ensure data integrity and accuracy
  • Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts for month end close in an accurate and timely manner, researching any discrepancies and recommending appropriate adjustment
  • Manage the preparation, review, and distribution of monthly financial statements to all budget managers and prepare the finance committee report package
  • Manage budgeting process by compiling departmental data in Excel reports and inputting data into accounting software to assure budget detail is accurately recorded for reporting purposes
  • Process year end reporting including 1099s
  • Invoice clients for facility rentals, catering, and school groups
  • Responsible for various audit schedules and audit related functions
  • Supervise the Accounting Specialist and provide appropriate oversight and guidance in processing payables, receivables, journal entries, payroll, etc.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance or CPA
  • Over 5 years of accounting experience is required
  • Nonprofit experience is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong skills in working  with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint

Medical Insurance – A portion of employee only coverage is paid by employer. (Currently 100% of base plan for employee is paid for by ASC.) Additional coverage can be purchased at employee’s expense.

Dental Insurance – A portion of employee only coverage is paid by employer

Vacation – 10 days paid vacation, accrued at 3.08 hours bi-weekly

Sick days – 6 days per year, accrued at 1.85 hours bi-weekly

Personal Leave – 2 days per year (accrued January 1st and July 1st each year)

Paid Holidays – New Year’s Day, MLK Day, Memorial Day, Presidents’ Day, Juneteenth, July 4th, Labor Day, Columbus

Basic Life Insurance – 1X annual salary  premium paid by employer. Additional coverage can be purchased at employee’s expense.

Long-Term Disability – premium paid by employer

401(k) Retirement Plan – New employees are eligible to enroll (July 1 or January 1) after three (3) months of employment. Beginning with the first January 1 or July 1 open enrollment following 12 months of employment, ASCmatches up to 6% of salary at 50%
