Job Summary
The Accounting Sr. Manager is responsible for the performing a variety of accounting related functions, to include, monthly financial reporting, account reconciliations, journal entry processing, and budget & audit support. The position supervises accounts payable processing, payroll processing and revenue posting.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and approve journal entries and supporting documentation; enter earned income, receivables and journal entries into accounting software, checking for correct balance
- Review and approve biweekly payroll and manage relationship with payroll provider
- Track cash and credit cards daily across ASC bank accounts and keep an updated cash forecast
- Maintain accounts payable positive pay files and handle all exceptions
- Perform monthly reconciliation of membership, contribution and pledge data between gift processing system and the accounting system
- Assist in development and maintenance of processes for entering data to ensure data integrity and accuracy
- Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts for month end close in an accurate and timely manner, researching any discrepancies and recommending appropriate adjustment
- Manage the preparation, review, and distribution of monthly financial statements to all budget managers and prepare the finance committee report package
- Manage budgeting process by compiling departmental data in Excel reports and inputting data into accounting software to assure budget detail is accurately recorded for reporting purposes
- Process year end reporting including 1099s
- Invoice clients for facility rentals, catering, and school groups
- Responsible for various audit schedules and audit related functions
- Supervise the Accounting Specialist and provide appropriate oversight and guidance in processing payables, receivables, journal entries, payroll, etc.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in accounting or finance or CPA
- Over 5 years of accounting experience is required
- Nonprofit experience is a plus
- Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Strong skills in working with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
