Job Summary

Primary Function:  Responsible for all aspects of accounts payable; processing high volume of bills and payments, maintaining vendor system records, processing high volume of expense reports, and maintaining the expense reporting system.  Cross-functionally may assist with incoming donations and donor records (accounts receivable).  Contribute in all phases of responsibilities to the Mission and Objectives of the organization.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Accounting, bookkeeping, and banking tasks for multiple organizations:  TBMB, Conference Centers, BCM’s, other subsidiaries, and TBC Association offices.
  1. Prepare, batch, review, enter and post to the Accounting system.  Sales, receivables, payables, bank transactions, and bank transfers.  Cross functional but with appropriate separation of duties.
  1. Accounting system reporting, transactional research, donor acknowledgements, Executive Leadership Team reporting, institutional reporting and constituent support and care.
  2. Assist with the month-end closing process, year-end closing process and annual audit work.
  3. Satisfy annual continuing professional education requirements to maintain accounting competency, skills, and best practices.
  4. Perform all other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:  High School diploma

Experience:  One to three years related work experience

  • Strong math skills, time management skills, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Teams, OneNote, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Effective written, oral, and virtual communication skills.
  • Strong ethical, professional and task driven skills.

Physical Requirements for Individual in Position:

  1. Physically able to sit at a desk for an extended period of each day, answer telephone handset, utilize computer keyboard and mouse, and verbally communicate with co-workers and guests in work area.
  2. Physically move from desk to central work areas for copies, supplies, files, and other materials and able to participate in a variety of staff and other types of meetings.
  3. Occasional bending, standing, and walking.
  4. Occasionally lifts and carries up to 10 pounds.
