Job Summary

The Accounting and Human Resource Specialist position will work with the Director of Finance is managing workflow regarding accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciling employee expense reports, and bank and credit card account reconciliation. From an HR perspective, this position will be responsible for employee onboarding and providing support service as needed.

Job Responsibilities

Accounts Payable: Managing Accounts Payable processes which include gaining appropriate approvals, account coding, invoice entry, and check preparation. Researching and resolving any issues related to paying vendors in an accurate and timely manner.

 

Accounts Receivable: Responsible for posting sponsor, member, and other payments as needed in various tracking systems and accounting software. Working with corporate support sales team to ensure timely receipt of payments to Nashville Public Radio. Providing various month end accounts receivable reports.

 

Expense, Bank, and Credit Card Reconciliation: This position will be responsible for reviewing employee expense reports for appropriate approvals and coding prior to reimbursement being issued. Also responsible for performing bank and credit card account reconciliations

 

Human Resources Administration: Coordinating onboarding activities for new employees and proving necessary information to benefit providers. Maintaining employee files and assisting leadership team with overall employee relations.

 

Supporting Ongoing Station Operations: You will serve as an integral member of the Administration team to ensure all timely filing of reports, insurance policies are renewed, employee benefits are maintained, office equipment leases and other financial commitments are satisfied. General clerical tasks to assist the department are expected.

Qualifications

Education (Training /Degree): Required minimum – Associates degree. Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.

 

Experience: At least 3 (three) years of experience in accounting related fields of accounts payable, accounts receivable, etc. Additional experience with MIP fund accounting, Sage Intacct, and/or Marketron is preferred. Human Resource administration experience is preferred.

 

Knowledge: Functional skills with Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook. Detailed, self-disciplined, and self-motivated. Highly developed organizational skills and ability to adjust in a dynamic atmosphere.
