This workshop will explain the overall tenets of community engagement, examine how an organization's definition of “community” can impact their interactions with community members, and discuss how a well-designed community engagement program can be an important strategy to advance racial equity.
The workshop will also define the “community engagement spectrum” and how it can help to determine specific strategies to establish authentic and ethical community engagement.

- Learn how community engagement is a strategy to advance racial equity.
- Understand why defining “community” is critical to how their organization engages with said communities.
