On June 29th, the Urban League of Middle Tennessee (ULMT) and the Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM) will host an information session and kick-off event for the second cohort of the Sam Howard Empowerment Fund, which is a scholarship program generously funded by Amazon and designed to support and promote leaders of color in the nonprofit sector.
The Sam Howard Empowerment Fund (SHEF) awards recipients $500 to be applied towards workshops at the Center for Nonprofit Management. In addition, scholarship recipients also have the opportunity to attend coaching and group training sessions.
At this kick-off event, information will be shared about the purpose of the Sam Howard Empowerment Fund, the experiences of scholarship recipients from the 2021 cohort of the Sam Howard Empowerment Fund, the application process for the Sam Howard Empowerment Fund, and the legacy of the scholarship’s namesake, iconic Nashville businessman Sam Howard. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
If you are a nonprofit leader of color or if there are individuals in your organization that would benefit from this opportunity, please make plans to attend this virtual kick-off and information session for the 2022 Sam Howard Empowerment Fund scholarship.
