CNM is committed to evaluating our programs and offerings through the lens of equity. In an effort to expand resources and equity-focused offerings to our members who are also interested in equity, CNM will be hosting a variety of workshops and events in 2019.  Workshops range from introductory content to more advanced content. Please refer to the details of each listing to determine which trainings would be the best fit for your organization.

 

Events

Introduction to Systemic Racism (1 Day Course)

Date and Time: April 8, 2019 and April 9, 2019 from 9:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Location: Nashville Public Library

Details: National experts, Crossroads Antiracism Organizing & Training, will bring their expertise to Nashville for two offerings of their one-day course, Introduction to Systemic Racism. This single day training is ideal for organizations that have initiated work in equity and want to dive deeper. Teams are highly encouraged to attend as a group. Please note that this is the same event, offered at two different times. Participants should only register for one of the dates below.

Understanding and Analyzing Systemic Racism (2.5 Day Course)

Date: August 14-16, 2019 and December 4-6, 2019

Location: CNM office

Details: Later in 2019, CNM will welcome Crossroads Antiracism Organizing & Training back to Nashville for two offerings of their 2.5 day course, Understanding and Analyzing Systemic Racism. This will be an intensive focused on how systemic racism shapes institutional identity, commitment, and work, while also providing strategies for teams seeking to dismantle racism within their organization. This workshop is designed for teams that include the organization’s CEO and one board member. Limited scholarship opportunities will be available, and participating organizations will be asked to complete a self-assessment prior to the session.

Healing Our Divided Society

Date & Time: October 21, 11:30 - 1:00 p.m.

Location: CNM office

Details: Join the Center for Nonprofit Management for a conversation about equity, race, and poverty in America with Alan Curtis, the CEO of the Eisenhower Foundation. The Eisenhower Foundation focuses its work on issues of race and poverty in America as a continuation of the initiatives begun under President Johnson in 1967. This is a free event. Lunch will be provided.

 

CNM Workshops

Location: CNM office from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Details: These full day workshops will have a programs focus and are ideal for leaders in your organization in charge of decision-making for policies and programs. All workshops are MatchGrant eligible, and no prior knowledge is required to attend.
