Hello from the Trolley Barns - update from Tari

Hello from the Trolley Barns! It has been right at 100 days for me here at CNM and what a whirlwind it has been. I’ve been listening, speaking, writing, and working on several new initiatives – all designed to benefit you, our amazing nonprofit partners. Because we truly do consider our member agencies as our partners, I wanted to share a few updates from CNM about these new initiatives:

1. We are poised to engage in a transformative planning/visioning process that will encourage all of us to think about CNM in a fresh way. It will elicit big ideas and dreams for the impact the nonprofit sector can make in our community, look at how the sector can help solve big problems through large scale collaborations, and ultimately define the role that CNM will play going forward. We’ll take a deep dive into our existing products and services with an open mind for innovations that may emerge.

2. CNM is part of an exciting initiative that has transformational potential for the entire community. It includes our major funders and leaders from around the city and focuses on how nonprofits can collectively make a bigger impact toward shared goals and work together on the big, thorny issues facing our city. More details to come as this develops, but we will be unveiling this project during a breakout session at Bridge to Excellence on May 11.

3. The next Community Initiatives event, “Changing Nashville Neighborhoods: What’s Next?”, will take place on March 31, so don’t forget to register. We are excited to bring new partners to the table – like WPLN, a housing development company, funders, and more – in the conversation of how gentrification is affecting nonprofits. We’d love to have you join us there.

Thank you for continually inspiring us to do what we do!
