Legal Office Manager for New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty

The New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty seeks a highly effective and organized Legal Office Manager to handle all aspects of running an office for a non-profit legal organization. The ideal candidate will have a mix of experience in administrative, front office, technology management for in-office and remote work, and/or other staff support roles and is eager to learn new skills.

NMCLP is a nationally recognized non-profit law firm that engages in impact litigation and policy advocacy to advance the health, economic, and educational wellbeing of New Mexico’s families. Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Answers phones, greets visitors, and serves as a liaison to community resources, in both English and Spanish.
  • Ensures the smooth functioning of the office environment and administrative processes, including file and mail management and coordination of building facility, supplies, and equipment maintenance.
  • Coordinates the set up and functioning of computers and IT system for in-office and remote work and works with IT consultants to troubleshoot issues.
  • Manages and assists with the logistics of special meetings, trainings, and other events.
  • Organizes and maintains administrative and legal files, both hard copy and electronic, and assists with filing court pleadings.
  • Supports operations team with personnel and financial functions.
  • Researches and recommends vendors, equipment, and administrative improvements.
  • Provides time-sensitive administrative support to staff.

  • Spanish speaker

  • Technology savvy; ability to work with new software and IT systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
