The person in this position is responsible for all THA Center for Innovative Solutions (TCIS) marketing activities and opportunity tracking and for facilitating contracted TCIS vendor meetings with hospital personnel.

Job Responsibilities

A wholly-owned subsidiary of the Tennessee Hospital Association (THA), THA Center for Innovative Solutions (TCIS) primary focus is on driving value to Tennessee’s hospitals by improving members’ operational effectiveness and financial margin.  TCIS also supports THA members through programs and partnerships which deliver high value.

JOB SUMMARY:

The person in this position is responsible for all THA Center for Innovative Solutions (TCIS) marketing activities and opportunity tracking and for facilitating contracted TCIS vendor meetings with hospital personnel.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: (listed in order of importance)  Principal accountabilities and what the person in this position does.

  1. The ability to adapt to a changing work environment and meet challenges presented throughout the day.
  2. Has responsibility for TCIS brand management, including creation and maximization of the brand.
  3. Develops, manages, and executes the TCIS marketing plan.
  4. Creates and oversees design of TCIS marketing materials, including promotional information and case studies.
  5. Develops TCIS communications to THA members, all bulk communications, and weekly e-mails.
  6. Manages social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities including:
    1. Creating and maintaining a regular social media publishing schedule.
    2. Promoting content through social advertising.
    3. Designing social media strategies to achieve marketing targets.
    4. Managing, creating, and publishing original, high quality content on social platforms.
    5. Administering all TCIS social media accounts to ensure up-to-date content.
    6. Monitoring, listening, and responding to users in a “social” way while cultivating leads and sales.
    7. Monitoring effective benchmarks and implementing best practices for measuring the impact of social media campaigns.
    8. Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results.
  7. Manages company website (including all images, tools, and content).
  8. Develops content, edits, and writes blogs for company website.
  9. Writes content, produces scripts, and oversees production of both long form videos and video blogs for purposes of promoting TCIS and its partners.
  10. Develops, executes, and oversees TCIS vendor/program marketing plans.
  11. Performs marketing development functions, including opportunity assessment.
  12. Schedules TCIS vendor meetings with hospital personnel and facilitates meetings for introductions and networking and to provide information on the vendor relationship. Shares responsibility for vendor relationships and new program development with the TCIS Vice President of Business Development.
  13. Directs the TCIS Recommended Solutions Program—proposals, presentations to TCIS Board for approval, and vendor promotion to members.
  14. Cross-markets with THA departments to ensure consistency of message and communications.
  15. Liaises with the THA Marketing and Communications Department, ensuring TCIS marketing is supporting the THA Brand and ensuring that TCIS messages are heard on THA platforms.
  16. Has responsibility for opportunity tracking in CRM for sales opportunities, tasks, results, and vendors.
  17. Works with existing TCIS vendors to identify and facilitate opportunities to expand their hospital contracts.
  18. Performs sales support communications and follow up.
  19. Negotiates Recommended Solutions contracts with vendors in order to maximize benefit to members and TCIS.
  20. Communicates with vendors as needed in order to assure mutual goal accomplishment.
  21. Participates in personal visits with hospitals, as assigned, to inform them of the opportunities within TCIS and support TCIS and its vendors in securing contracts for services.
  22. Manages content, scheduling, and notification for TCIS webinars.
  23. In conjunction with the TCIS VP of Business Development, analyzes and interprets a variety of data and business-related factors in order to make decisions as to appropriate markets to enter that provides the greatest value for member hospitals and THA.  Vendor selection must reflect “ahead of the curve” thinking to satisfy “value” demands.
  24. Must be available in the office during regular office hours unless job responsibilities require otherwise.
  25. Must be available for out of town travel approximately 10 percent of the time, including overnight, be able to drive an automobile, and maintain a valid driver’s license.

MARGINAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Coordinates meetings for THA affiliate groups that have been assigned to TCIS, including participating in their board phone calls to plan events, setting up registration, sending meeting notices, and securing sponsors.

Qualifications

Educational and experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing preferred or four years of marketing experience required.

Skills Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:

  3. Must have the ability to produce long-range and short-range plans and execute the plans effectively and timely.
  4. Must have effective presentation skills and be comfortable speaking before diverse groups and audiences.
  5. Must have the ability to perform research to adequately fulfill job responsibilities.
  6. Must have the ability to carry out multiple projects concurrently.
  7. Must be highly skilled in Microsoft computer programs, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and the Contract Relationship Management (CRM) tool.
  8. Exceptional organization and management skills are critical.
  9. Must have the ability to make well informed and well thought out business-related decisions based on available information.
  10. General business skills to include management and marketing.
  11. Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
  12. Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms, their respective participants (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), and how each platform can be deployed in different scenarios.
  13. Displays ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written and video format.
  14. Possesses functional knowledge and/or personal experience with WordPress CMS (self-hosted).
  15. Must have a general understanding of the healthcare industry and hospitals, in particular, and be knowledgeable of healthcare trends and directions to anticipate/determine future membership demand for products/services and determine which products and services to pursue.
  16. Must have “sales” and marketing skills to present programs/vendors to hospitals.
  17. Must have the ability to negotiate in a way that delivers maximum value to members and TCIS while maintaining productive working relationships.
  18. Interpretive skills to take ideas from concept to implementation and operations.
  19. Must be comfortable in social settings with people that are minimally known.
  20. Must have the ability to oversee and manage day-to-day aspects of key business relationships.
  21. Must be a self-starter.
  22. Must be able to take general directions and translate that into productive work.
