Job Summary
Mid-Cumberland Community Action Agency is seeking an HR manager to oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This position is an integral part of the senior management team and will involve managing activities such as job design, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development and talent management. Promoting corporate values and shaping a positive culture to allow the Agency to realize our established mission and objectives will be vital aspect of this position.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues
- Ensure Agency Personnel Policies and Procedures remain updated and comply with regulatory changes, best business practices, and changes in employment law
- Manage the recruitment and selection process including posting, screening, interviewing, orientation, and onboarding process
- Maintain online job boards and website regarding employment and volunteer opportunities
- Partners with program staff to schedule and coordinate interview as well as to ensure a seamless onboarding process
- Manages the documentation and reporting systems for employee time and attendance, leave information and documentation, personnel records, and other employee information consistent with State and Federal requirements as well as grant requirements and regulations and Agency policies and procedures
- Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital
- Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across the organization
- Nurture a positive working environment
- Conduct workplace investigations as needed
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance
- Maintain pay plan and benefits program
- Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs
- Provide training and technical assistance to staff
- Report to management and provide decision support through HR metrics
- Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management
Qualifications
Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of employment law and HR best practices
- Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related field
- 3-5 years Human Resources experience with increasing responsibilities
- PHR or SHRMCP preferred
Skills
- Proven working experience as HR manager or other HR executive
- People oriented and results driven
- Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics
- Knowledge of HR systems and databases
- Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
- Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
