Job Summary

E.L.I. ‘s House seeks to hire staff to provide direct care and supervision for 6 women (Guests) and their children. The primary focus of this position is to know the whereabouts of each Guest during the night and respond to any resident(s) who may be in distress. Overnight Staff will need to be highly skilled in verbal de-escalation and therapeutic techniques. To adhere to the set schedule already laid out for the women

Director of Operations
Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Job Responsibilities

Help maintain the structure of E.L.I.’s House by assisting guests through pre-planned night and morning routines.

  • Provides close supervision of guests in accordance with policy and procedure; including room checks and documentations of each resident
  • Oversees self-administered medications as needed and according to strict guidelines
  • Monitor Guests for changes in behavior that may indicate potential crisis situations in accordance with facility guidelines and alerts the Program Director and/or staff as appropriate.
  • Intervenes, when necessary, in crisis situations in accordance with policy and procedure guidelines.
  • Submits information to the Program Director on the more serious disciplinary actions and in accordance with facility policy/procedures.
  • Respond to Guests who are in distress in a non-threatening manner and attempt to understand the source of distress.
  • Applies de-escalation techniques to help manage Guest’s emotions and behavior.
  • Reports all observances of unusual behaviors or Guest’s physical and mental health to the Program Director.

OVERNIGHT STAFF

  • Maintain and model appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment.
  • Work with other staff members to provide structure and consistency
  • Maintain timely and effective communication with all staff and supervisor

OTHER DUTIES

  • Assists in maintaining a clean, safe and orderly environment by conducting walk-throughs, promptly reporting security or maintenance issues and carrying out cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Perform administrative tasks to assist daytime staff
  • Write thank you or special notes to volunteers and donors on behalf of E.L.I.’s House
  • Conduct searches of all residents and their belongings each time they enter the facility.
  • Other duties as assigned by Program Director and/or other staff members
  • Coordinate weekend and special activities.

COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure all activities within the house are conducted within the guidelines and regulation of Federal HIPAA requirements.

Experience

  • Minimum of two years of applicable experience
  • Experience working with women and minor children with domestic violence, sex trafficking, drug addiction and various trauma.
  • Experience in crisis prevention, intervention, and conflict resolution skills

Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a positive collaborative relationship among staff
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Flexible with scheduling according to program needs
  • Culturally sensitive in the work environment
  • Demonstrate warmth and empathy when working with the Guests
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, at an intermediate level, in the work environment
  • Proficiency with Outlook and other related technologies and programs

Spiritual

  • Deep faith in and abiding walk with Christ and an understanding of Biblical principles of the hope, healing, and redemptive work of Christ.
  • Growing spiritual life, with the desire to bring honor and glory to the Lord at E.L.I’s House as well as outside the home.

Other

  • Be capable of picking up at least 25LBS and climbing stairs
  • Must meet criminal background Check requirements
  • Must maintain employment eligibility status
  • Provide E.L.I.’s House with all appropriate background and clearance documents as required by state and federal laws.
  • Once hired, successfully complete the prescribed courses of training

Travel

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Biblical Counseling certification preferred
  • Knowledge of the Department of Child Services policies and procedures.
