About Hotline:

Since 1990, Homework Hotline is an academic support program for K-12 students in Tennessee, that provides free one-on-one on demand homework help and scheduled tutoring services with Tennessee certified educators.

About the role:

The Program Manager (PM) is a critical member of Hotline’s administrative team. The PM leads the management and quality of Homework Hotline’s academic support program through the following responsibilities in coordination with the Executive Director (ED): 

1) Leads academic programming development and implementation, and program evaluation; 

2) Raises the agency’s profile through external outreach and relationship building with schools and community organizations; 

3) Provides supervision and professional development to staff and volunteers

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities: Staff Management and Organizational Planning

In coordination with the ED: 

• Play a key role in the overall development, strategic planning, service delivery, and management of the organization across school district partners, as well as educational and community organization partners across the state. 

• Establish academic program and staff goals and objectives and track results against these goals as well as accountability protocols. 

• Directly train, supervise, and evaluate the Call Center Supervisor

• Maintain a team-based environment to motivate and inspire staff to work collaboratively toward mission and vision; clearly communicating this to staff. . 

Program Oversight and Evaluation 

In coordination with the ED:

• Oversee the coordination, integration, and delivery of Homework Hotline’s academic support programming.

• Ensure the delivery of qualitative and quantitative data, goals, and outcomes of Homework Hotline. 

• Analyze programmatic data to inform the program and operational decision-making and reporting to Hotline’s partners. 

• Review and implement staffing plans to achieve program goals and objectives. 

• Participate in hiring decisions for teachers and additional staff 

• Recruit and manage volunteers using Hands On Nashville’s volunteer platform

• Provide back-up support for the Call Center Supervisor as needed (Monday – Thursday, 4 pm – 8 pm)

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a nonprofit, government, or philanthropy environment, overseeing program(s), ideally at an organization impacting educational attainment or success of high-potential youth. 

• Passion for Homework Hotline’s mission and purpose and an ability to educate and inspire action by others.

• High comfort level with technology and multitasking. Additional helpful skills: organization, professional and creative writing, public speaking. 

• Ability to work well with diverse populations including staff, guardians, and K-12 students. 

• Comprehensive working knowledge of program planning.

Benefits

Compensation: This is a salaried position that pays $30,000 – 40,000/year, averaging 25 hours per week, 10 – 11 months out of the year (may work up to 30 hours some week during high volume times, reduced work schedule in the summer and at school breaks).
