Job Summary

Genesis Learning Centers is a private, non-profit agency that specializes in providing therapeutic schools and services for children and adolescents who are experiencing intense emotional, behavioral, developmental, and learning challenges. As a non-profit agency since 1984, we are proud to call Nashville and the communities of Middle Tennessee our home.

We are currenly seeking a SPED certified Lead Teacher at our Genesis Academy location in Nashville. Each of our students receives services designed to meet their specific needs on every level of care in a small, child- centered environment. Individual Education Plans (IEPs) are carefully developed and reviewed regularly with our students and their families as we want every student to have a positive, supportive, and adaptive learning experience. Job Responsibilities

As a Lead Teacher, you will write the IEPs and lead the instruction of your classroom students. In addition, the Lead Teacher provides support to staff, as needed. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for managing two classrooms and will partner with the Instructional Facilitator of each in planning, teaching, and developing IEPs, and classroom behavior management.

Qualifications

  • Must be certified to teach in Tennessee
  • Special Needs experience is a plus
  • Must have strong desire to make a difference in the lives of the children we serve and believe that all students deserve a high-quality education.
  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint/background check and drug screen.
