Job Summary
In collaboration with C.E.O. and C.O.O. create and execute development plan for Harvest Hands, including grant writing and grant management, fundraising events, individual and corporate donor management. Ensure fundraising goals are met annually and new revenue streams are secured to grow the mission and impact of the organization.
This position has potential to grow into a Chief Development Officer based on the performance of the individual and growth of organization’s revenue.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions
- Develop and implement the organization’s development objectives & strategy, evaluate its success, and provide improvement on an ongoing basis
- Create a strategic plan to grow the organization’s support base and revenue streams
- Maintain current grants calendar and execute grants process, including adequate and timely review and approval from leadership team.
- Ensure grant tracking is completed for applicable grants.
- Build and maintain relationships with corporate partners, including solicitation and stewardship for event sponsorships.
- Oversee fundraising events and campaigns alongside other development team members.
- Ensure that all giving profiles are updated and maintained and gifts are recorded accurately in donor database.
- Manage Harvest Hands rental spaces, including but not limited to maintaining events calendar, marketing of spaces, equipment inventory and maintenance, event day coordination, and sending contracts and invoices.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with staff, students, families, volunteers, donors, foundations, community leaders, media and partner organizations.
- Collaborate with the programs team to promote volunteerism with corporate partners.
- Produce monthly board reports for finance and development.
- Communicate regularly with leadership team about any communications from foundations, updates to grants processes and/or funding, and other important information.
- Ensure that all grants are reviewed by the leadership team in a timely manner, in order to meet each deadline.
- Maintain relationships and provide support for third party fundraisers.
- Execute the current donor thank you/communications process.
Qualifications
- A strong and clearly observable faith in God, and a strong passion and commitment to mission and outreach in an under resourced community
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate with and lead teams
- 3 or more years of experience in development in a nonprofit organization with demonstrated success
- Excellent written, verbal and administrative skills
- Bachelor’s degree
