Job Summary

Insight Counseling Centers has an opening for a dynamic Development Director. Our mission is to restore lives to wholeness—mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We understand that mental health concerns are stigmatized by much of society. In fact, of the 20% of the population who needs mental health services, 60% will not seek support due to cost and stigmatization. Our future Development Director will be an important part of our leadership team and will raise funds that allow clients to receive therapy on an income-based fee scale. The Development Director reports directly to the Executive Director and is responsible for overseeing the agency’s fundraising efforts (excluding grantsmanship which is currently managed by the Executive Director). A current priority is growing our number of recurring donors.

Serve as a representative and voice of Insight Counseling Centers in the community. • Partner with Executive Director and the Board of Directors in fundraising initiatives. • Take the lead on developing and implementing an effective development plan that includes events, giving societies, and major gifts. • Develop and steward a portfolio of donors and prospects • Solicit major gift contributions with support from the Executive Director • Monitor, evaluate and report on all fundraising activities to ensure that the fundraising goals are being achieved. • Lead the agency in acknowledging donors. • Responsible for up-to-date donor gift history, contact information, and other relevant data. • Monitor donor messaging – print, digital and social media– including donor appeals, newsletters, and thank you letters.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or combination of education and equivalent experience. • Minimum of three years of successful fundraising experience, five years or more preferred • Strong written and oral communicator. • Gifted at relationship building. • Excellent organizational skills including managing multiple priorities. • Ability to work collaboratively and independently. • Must be available to work some evenings and weekends as dictated by donor meetings and fundraising events.
