Position Description:

The Director of Operations (DO) is part of a collaborative team responsible for RHA’s financial health, contract management, and overall compliance, including HR functions. This position supports the day-to-day operations across multiple contracts and programs, provides guidance on the overall administrative and operational functions, supervises the Bookkeeper position, and works with state, federal, and independent auditors. The DO reports to RHA’s CEO.

Job Responsibilities

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure fiscal integrity through careful planning, documentation, and management of income and expenses, appropriate record-keeping, procurement of materials, supplies, and services, and management of personnel and associated expenses.
  • Develop and oversee the organization’s financial strategy, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning.
  • Oversee accounting functions such as accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Lead the process for RHA’s annual financial, Single A, and funder audits.
  • Support the development, negotiation, and execution of contracts, sub-awards, and grants with funders, vendors, and partners.
  • Work with program directors to ensure that contract funds are properly allocated and utilized.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, including IRS, OMB, and grant-specific guidelines.
  • Oversee the organization’s insurance policies, ensuring proper coverage for liability, property, and employee-related risks.
  • Provide training and development for staff to enhance financial and regulatory literacy.
  • Ensuring compliance with RHA’s policies and procedures including personnel, financial, data and data security, and bylaws.
  • Responsible for the monitoring, collection, and distribution of information pertaining to employee and Association taxes and operations to respective employees, governmental agencies, and auditors.
  • Act as RHA’s Security Officer, maintaining policies and procedures and monitoring compliance.
  • Support the administrative needs of other RHA programs or operations as needed.
  • Supervise between 1-3 positions while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Keeps the CEO informed of issues with funders, accounts, etc., and makes recommendations for operational improvements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ nonprofit operations experience; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal grant management.
  • Experience supervising employees and volunteers.
  • Must be detail-oriented, motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Proficient in using technology (Microsoft Suite) and working in a remote environment.
  • Flexible with the ability to manage multiple projects in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and auto insurance
  • Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks Online.

Additional Information:

  • Starting salary is $75,000 with a bachelor’s degree; and $85,000 with a master’s.
  • Hybrid position – some days will be required in the office and/or community.
  • 37.5-hour work week, Monday – Friday, option to start/end day one hour early/later.
