Elle Benson

Elle Benson joined CNM in Spring 2022 as our Interim Director of Membership Engagement, assisting members through benefits and consulting. As of September 2022, Elle is now an official ‘Consultant on Call’ expert at CNM!

In addition to working with CNM, Elle is a national nonprofit consultant helping nonprofits transition to greater impact. Benson was a founding staff member at the Alliance for Better Nonprofits, East Tennessee’s nonprofit capacity-building center, and served as a staff member for seven years. Elle brought ten years of nonprofit and business consulting experience into the creation of ABN having been a champion and leader for the YWCA. Her nonprofit experience includes organizational development, fundraising, program development, nonprofit and corporate marketing, human resources, board governance, and strategic planning.

Elle is an enthusiastic teacher, having taught at the Alliance for Better Nonprofits and University of Tennessee non-credit courses. She engages and energizes audiences from 20 to 200. She has published two books on mindfulness, Cultivate Your Happiness: Mama-to-Be and Cultivating Calmness in Children for early education-aged youth.

She holds a certification in board governance from BoardSource, a global network advancing board governance practices and a certificate in group facilitation. She earned her MBA in organizational change and her BA in business.

Elle loves to explore the city as a new Nashvillian by finding new parks, specialty lattes, and hidden gems. She has a special gift for pairing frozen yogurt toppings and planning over-the-top kids’ birthday parties.
