Job Summary
The Teen Authors Workshop is a writing workshop for individuals who love to write and/or are interested in learning more about writing. During the workshop, writers will be introduced to the writing styles of poetry, article writing, short stories, and playwrights. Sessions will include icebreaker activities, free writing, progressive stories, team building, read-aloud, and group discussion. At the end of the workshop, participants will contribute their work to a published anthology. After the anthology is published, participants will be invited to do a public reading and book signing.
Job Responsibilities
Attend CW training and orientations related to Facilitator’s role as a Writing Facilitator.
Facilitate the weekly workshops, including by leading writing sessions, providing feedback on written work, giving opportunities for attendees to receive feedback from their peers on their written work.
Facilitate lessons on the following topics;
- Article Writing
- Poetry
- Short Stories
- Playwriting
- Collaborative Writing
Qualifications
- Pursuing or have Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience working with youth age 13-18.
