Weekend Residential Support Staff
Schedule: Friday 4:00 PM – Sunday 4:00 PM, Daytime or 24 Hour Shifts also available, rotating schedule to include 1 to 2 weekends per month
Compensation: $17 hourly rate + $3/hour weekend differential (applies only with full weekend commitment), 8 hour sleep shift break each night but must remain in house
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable individual to join our team as a Weekend Residential Support Staff member. This role plays a vital part in fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging home environment for up to four semi-independent residents. The ideal candidate is someone who is nurturing, responsible, and enjoys creating meaningful connections while supporting individuals in their daily lives.
The Weekend Support Staff reports directly to the Residential Coordinator and/or Director of Programs.
Overnight Requirement:
This position includes overnight on-site presence in the Relief Manager’s suite on both Friday and Saturday nights. While this is a “sleep” shift, the staff member must be available to assist residents if needed during the night. Compensation is provided for active hours only.
Alternative Schedule:
Day-only shifts (no overnight stay required) are also available. Note that weekend differential pay does not apply to day-only shifts.

Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:

Support residents with daily hygiene routines and encourage independence in personal care

Plan and prepare nutritious, well-balanced meals aligned with residents’ needs and preferences

Coordinate and supervise weekend recreational activities that promote social engagement and well-being

Administer and manage medications in accordance with individual support plans (ISPs), under the guidance of the BrightStone nursing team

Ensure a clean and safe living environment; report maintenance concerns to the Home Manager or Program Director

Provide transportation for residents to community events, activities, and employment opportunities using a BrightStone vehicle

Maintain accurate and confidential records for each resident, meeting all licensure documentation standards

Immediately report any observed or suspected abuse or neglect to the Residential Coordinator and Program Director

Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success and well-being of the home
Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
• Energetic attitude, creative, strong client-relation skills; enthusiasm for the mission of BrightStone and willingness to fully contribute to a team-oriented, fast- paced organization
• Strong time management skills; must be self-motivated
• Ability to drive an 8-passenger van
• Ability to perform and/or be trained in CPR and other First-Aid procedures
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- H.S. diploma or equivalent
- Communicate clearly utilizing verbal and written skills
- Possess analytical problem-solving and sound judgment skills
- Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Trainings Required (provided by BrightStone):
- CPR and First Aid
- Medication Management
- Title 6 Discrimination Training
- Abuse, Fall, and Accident Training
- Reportable Events Training (self-paced)
- Additional trainings as determined by the Director of Programs to ensure a secure and welcoming home environment
