Job Summary

Adult Literacy @ NPL seeks a self-motivated individual with strong organizational and digital literacy skills to complete virtual event support tasks for the Middle Tennessee Adult Education Symposium (October 19-26, 2021). Performs related duties as required. Position reports to Natalie Flammia, Professional Development Associate, Adult Literacy. This work and the events it supports are virtual. A successful applicant must have strong digital literacy skills. Experience using digital event management and communication programs is preferred.

This is a short-term, part-time contract position. The contract term is August – October 2021. Compensation is $25/hr for an expected 10-18 hr/month. Start date as soon as possible, no later than August 23, 2021.

Job Responsibilities

Virtual Event management

  • Create and manage event registration page (Eventbrite)
  • Set up and manage live meetings (Zoom)
  • Develop an inviting and engaging virtual conference space (Attendify)
  • Populate virtual conference space with information and resources (Attendify)
  • Extract and interpret registration and conference access data (Eventbrite, Attendify)
  • Track and distribute registration and access links (Eventbrite, Zoom, Attendify)

Virtual Event production

  • Prepare contracted session facilitators to use Zoom Meetings
  • Start and end Zoom Meetings
  • As necessary, share screen, manage breakout rooms, launch polls, and monitor chat
  • Provide tech support during live sessions

Related duties

  • Additional tasks as required

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong digital literacy skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience using Zoom Meetings

Preferred 

  • Experience using Attendify
  • Experience using Eventbrite
  • Knowledge of adult education philosophies and practices
