Job Summary

Responsible for the supervision, development, and direction of all aspects of Oasis’ action, advocacy, and education work. This work is focused on supporting the healthy development and wellbeing of all youth by providing opportunities for youth to discover their strengths and become champions for a just and thriving community.  Through engaging programing, service learning, developmental relationships, and action councils, youth are supported in seeking to change policies and practices within institutions that have a disproportionately powerful affect upon their current and future well-being.  Responsible for the supervision, development, and direction of all aspects of Oasis’ action, advocacy, and education work. Job Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in developing high quality, equity driven youth development work.
  • Integrate school-based programs to increase touch points and shared impact.
  • Nurture a team culture of learning, integrity, equity, and effectiveness.
  • Responsible for building deep, creative collaborations with a wide variety of institutions that impact young people’s lives; 
  • Responsible for funder relationship building and cultivating new funders
  • Identify external funding opportunities and write/contribute to proposals.
  • Serve on the agency’s Executive Leadership Team that sets policy, and assures a safe, equitable, inclusive and high performing culture at the agency 
  • Identify and manage relationships with key internal and external partners to advance access, equity, diversity and inclusion in the community.
  • Provide leadership in and add capacity to community efforts aimed at increasing equity for youth.
  • Lead and oversee development, implementation, administration, and evaluation of Action, Advocacy, and Education programs
  • Responsible for the overall quality, success and outcomes across all Oasis Youth Action, Advocacy, and Education programs.
  • Oversee budget development, strategic financial planning and sustainability of Action, Advocacy & Education programs. Partner in program development efforts with the V.P. of Human Resources and the Grants Director;

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse workforce and provide leadership in organizational change.
  • Ability to relate to and work with diverse groups of people, including researchers, activists, faith leaders, elected officials, judges, law enforcement, educators, youth and families in collaborative change efforts. 
  • Ability to provide executive level leadership and develop a team. 
  • Demonstrate ability to facilitate implementation of the cross-functional strategic plan and work with division leaders to implement and measure effectiveness.
  • Strong capacity to form meaningful, caring, and affirming relationships with all young people, including LGBTQ+ youth.
  • Knowledge of an ability to apply Positive Youth Development, Trauma-Informed Care, and evidence-informed practices based in an understanding of adolescent and family development.
  • Clear understanding of racial inequities and other forms of discrimination and willingness to operate from an anti-oppression model.
  • Excellent logistical and facilitation skills
  • Experience managing budgets
  • Experience in program development
  • Experience supervising staff and providing direct services, supports, and development opportunities for youth
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a management position.

Educational Requirements:      Master’s degree preferred.
