Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Diversity and Inclusion Advocate Intern to help ensure that AtoZ Learning Club’s programs, resources, and materials reflect and celebrate the diversity of the communities we serve. This internship is an excellent opportunity for someone studying education, child development, or a related field who is eager to make a meaningful impact.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Development: Research and recommend diverse, inclusive books and resources for our literacy programs, book drives, and events.
  • Program Support: Assist in designing culturally relevant activities and materials to engage children and families.
  • Community Outreach: Engage with families from different cultural backgrounds to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into program planning.
  • Representation Advocacy: Work closely with the team to promote representation and inclusivity in our storytelling and programming efforts.
  • Event Assistance: Support the planning and execution of events focused on cultural inclusivity, such as workshops, storytimes, and family engagement activities.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in education, child development, social work, cultural studies, or a related field.
  • Passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in education and literacy.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for developing engaging and inclusive activities.
  • Experience working with children, families, or diverse communities is a plus.
