Job Summary

PURPOSE: The purpose of this role is to provide critical support to Operation Andrew Group’s education initiative, United4Hope. United4Hope connects churches to public schools to see our students thrive and our communities transformed.

Job Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Partner Work (50%)

  • Function as the primary point of contact and program expert for a caseload of school/church partnerships
  • Establish new and strengthen existing relationships with the school district and congregants/pastors throughout Nashville
  • Attend school partner and church meetings to share about United4Hope and network with community members to further United4Hope’s mission
  • Communicate with all stakeholders in a clear, timely, and proactive fashion

Work with the U4H team to cultivate and maintain a robust program communication plan (10%)

In collaboration with the U4H team:

  • Create and maintain a content calendar
  • Write blog posts and post to the U4H and Coordinator Facebook Page
  • Update social media to reflect the ministry’s priorities
  • Send church and school emails on a designated schedule to consistently maintain communication with all constituents

Recruit churches to partner with a school (10%)

  • Collaborate with staff to recruit church partners for schools across the district
  • Meet with pastors to share the vision of United4Hope and provide direction to church leadership during the school/church partnership onboarding process from start to finish

Lead trainings/orientations (10%)

  • Plan gatherings for United4Hope coordinators and the community on topics ranging from recruitment, SEL, Accelerating Scholars tutoring, literacy, coordinator meetups, and new areas as identified to meet partner needs
  • Lead coordinator and volunteer orientations for churches (in person and virtual) and follow up to ensure congregants have full access to training materials and are supported as they engage their partner school(s)

Public Speaking (5%)

  • 1-2 times per month, participate in public speaking via informative videos, church speaking engagements, sharing at school partner meetings, or other opportunities as identified.

Event planning and implementation (15%)

  • Help plan and facilitate annual events:
    • Annual U4H Partner Celebration (summer 2023)
    • United4Hope Coordinator Convening (summer 2023)
  • Help plan and facilitate quarterly events:
    • Accelerating Scholars Info Sessions (Starting 2023 – 2024 school year)
    • U4H church coordinator meetups
  • Participate in collective OAGroup events, including our CALLED benefit dinner, the Golf Challenge, The Gift of Giving initiative, teacher appreciation initiatives, and pastor gatherings

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in education or human services related field; Master’s degree encouraged or relevant professional or lived experience
  • 3-5 years program development and management in education or nonprofit field a plus
  • Experience working in an environment with diverse audiences, denominations, and cultures
  • Self-starter, process and detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects and relationships
  • Strong personal relationship with Jesus; Leads with integrity
  • Work on projects independently as well as collaborating with the team with a strong ability to organize and prioritize
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience or willingness to learn Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Canvas, Vimeo, and Little Green Light (CRM)
  • Work ethic aligns with organizational core values of integrity, flexibility, adaptability, grace, transparency, truthfulness, and respect, as well as furthering the mission of OAGroup to unite, partner and love

Working conditions

  • Office hours are 8:30-4:30, but some occasional evening and weekend hours are necessary
  • Occasionally represent OAGroup on Sundays at local church ministry fairs and other events as needed.
