Job Summary
The Safety Trainer is responsible for training staff on transit operations, including signing off on drivers to show that training has been completed, development of in house staff trainings, and attending federal and state transit workshops when needed. This position is dedicated to making sure that the system is in compliance with all federal, state, and local public transit regulations. This position is under the supervision of the Transportation Director
Full benefits, 40 hrs. /week. EOE
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include: Updating staff on transit policy and procedures, assisting in the development and revision of program training materials, vehicle maintenance checks, assists with conducting Random Drug screens, assists Regional Coordinators in County offices when needed/available, drive in designated county office, when needed/available, any other duties as defined by Supervisor. Job responsibilities require a heightened level of responsibility, attention to detail, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and keeping staff up to date on policies and procedures pertaining to Mid-Cumberland’s Public Transit operation.
Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience to perform necessary functions of the job.
At least 25 years of age, valid Class D TN Driver’s License with an F Endorsement.
Good computer and customer service skills.
Pass Pre-employment drug screen, DOT physical and be included in random testing pool
Clean background check
