Job Summary
The Training Coordinator is a member of the Program Team. This team is responsible for providing training, technical assistance, and support to member programs and communities statewide.
Job Responsibilities
Training, Technical Assistance, Curriculum Development, and Data Collection/Dissemination:
- Provide training, technical assistance and information on domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking to member programs, allied organizations, and survivors
- Develop, update, and implement training curriculums
- Create and disseminate training announcements
- Update and revise training information on websites as needed
- Assist in data collection and grant reporting
Training Coordination and Conference Planning
- Plan and coordinate all aspects of agency conferences, trainings, and webinars, both virtual and live, including the Annual Conference, Tommy Burks Victim Assistance Academy, and the Rape Prevention Institute
- Responsibilities include registration, announcements, speaker identification, speaker contracts, site selection, site visit coordination, hotel, audio visual, and catering contracts, evaluations, data entry, and participant certificates
- Develop, implement and monitor training and conference budgets
- Coordinate conference planning committees including member recruitment, meeting announcements and agendas, and meeting facilitation
- Create detailed work plans for all training events including tasks and deadlines
- Work with vendors, including video consultants, web designers, e-learning developers, IT support and hotel, university and conference center staff
Meeting Attendance:
- Attend all staff, team, and committee meetings as required
- Represent agency at community meetings and events as requested Associate Director
Communications:
- Provide ongoing feedback to Associate Director regarding programmatic issues
- Respond quickly to requests from programs and survivors, including distribution of resources
- Prepare narrative and grant reports as needed
- Provide high quality, trauma informed support, information, and referrals to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking
- Create and disseminate information about agency training opportunities via mail, e-mail, e-blasts, website, and social media
Program Support/Development:
- Provide high quality support to advocates and allied professionals regarding sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking
- Provide trauma and evidence informed services to allied professionals and advocates regarding trauma informed care of victims
- Work to develop public awareness opportunities surrounding issues affecting domestic violence and sexual assault
Networking and Advocacy:
- Network with other agencies and systems providing services to domestic violence and sexual assault survivors
- Coordinate community events including tabling events and resource sharing
Volunteers
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with training and community events
Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by the Associate Director
Qualifications
- At least two years of experience in training/conference planning and coordination
- Demonstrated knowledge of the problems associate with domestic violence and sexual assault
- Experience working with victims of domestic violence or sexual assault
- Demonstrated ability for detailed organization and administration of projects
- Excellent oral, written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills
- Excellent computer skills and experience with various software including Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom, Emma (other e-mail blast software) and LMS and social media platforms
- Demonstrated ability to gather and disseminate information
- Experience creating training announcements and social media posts
- Experience gathering and analyzing data
- Experience in grant management and reporting
- Experience recruiting, training, and supervising volunteers
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and car insurance
