Job Summary
The Technical Assistance Specialist for the Opioid Abatement Program creates and executes a plan to implement technical assistance activities on the best practices in service provision, trauma-informed practices, and emerging trends in order to build the capacity of domestic and sexual violence service providers and preventionists to address the intersection of interpersonal violence and substance abuse.
Program Overview:
The Tennessee Coalition Opioid Abatement Program will be a threefold initiative that includes prevention, education, and treatment to address this need. Primary prevention activities will include the creation and dissemination of educational materials, as well as training and support for prevention professionals. The Coalition will provide education and technical assistance to local domestic violence and sexual assault programs across Tennessee to improve their capacity to serve survivors with Opioid Use Disorder and co-occurring issues. Direct services will include free, statewide telehealth and recovery groups for DV/SA survivors that focus on trauma, opioid, and substance use.
Job Responsibilities
- Works with all member programs to assist in updating their policies and practices around serving survivors & their families who are actively using opioids or who are at risk.
- Assist in maintenance of and technical assistance related to the Coalition’s Learning Management System.
- Creates model policies and toolkits.
- Serves as a point of connection for training and outreach needs.
- Provide individualized technical assistance to domestic and sexual violence programs across the state.
- Ensure that all grant deliverables are completed on time and that all grant reporting is accurate and timely.
- Ensure compliance with all grant policies and procedures.
- The role will require occasional travel throughout Tennessee.
- Serves as a leader to ensure strong communications between TCEDSV and all external constituents.
- Follows and supports policies and procedures of TCEDSV.
- Actively seeks to learn the history of TCEDSV.
- Supports and promotes the mission of TCEDSV.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Five (5) plus years of experience in Substance Use Disorder/Intimate Partner Violence.
- BA/BS preferred.
- Strong understanding of nonprofit organizations and familiarity with community issues.
- Knowledge and familiarity with the dynamics and domestic and sexual violence, as well as the systems that support survivors.
- Ability to manage a high volume of work with efficiency.
- Has a coaching and learning mentality.
- Proactively learns new tools and technology.
- Produces compelling written and digital materials.

Work Environment:
TCEDSV operates primarily through a remote work environment. The incumbent will reside in Tennessee and be able to travel for business purposes to Nashville or other parts of the state on an occasional basis which may include some overnight travel. The schedule is established for the position by the CEO and CAO of TCEDSV.

Ability to lift/carry up to 20 pounds. Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time. Good manual dexterity with the ability to perform repetitive hand/wrist motions. Ability to manage multiple tasks as assigned and handle stressful situations. Works in a typical office environment. The noise level is usually moderate.
Comments: This position is considered light work with repetitive motion.
