Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated, caring, and experienced teacher to plan and implement an ongoing program of acitivities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child at Fannie Battle Day Home for Children.

Job Responsibilities

  • Professionalism
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy in all matters regarding Fannie Battle, children, and families
  • Establish and pursue professional goals annually
  • Participate in continuing education opportunities to meet professional goals and the required hours of training for licensing and a three (3) star rating on the TN Star Quality Rating System (18 hours per year, minimum)
  • Adhere to Fannie Battle’s policies and procedures, including the Employee Handbook
  • Implement assigned curriculum and curriculum objectives based on DAP and Fannie Battle program philosophy
  • Maintain respectful communication with families
  • Participate in planned family events
  • Maintain a safe and healthy environment while meeting and adhering to DHS Licensing Rules & Regulations; including but not limited to supervision and ratios
  • Working cooperatively with co-workers to provide a positive learning environment for all children

Qualifications

  • CDA or ECE A.S degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience preferred
  • Required to undergo background check
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and families
