Job Summary

Catholic Charities Diocese of Nashville is seeking candidates for one full time Program Specialist in the area of Substance Abuse/Mental Health in our County Expansion/Tennessee Serves Neighbors Program. This program is funded through the Tennessee Department of Human Services from a surplus of TANF dollars. The position will be based in and will cover Montgomery County. This is a full-time position, working 37.5 hours per week from 8:00am-4:30pm Monday through Friday, with some flexibility required.

Job Responsibilities

This position will provide office-based therapy and support services to low-income clients and families. The primary function of this position will be providing trauma informed individual, group, and family counseling by formulating and implementing treatment plans for each client.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in trauma-informed service to individuals and families
  • Knowledge and experience in the area of Substance Abuse treatment and motivational interviewing
  • Clinical License (LCSW, LPC) or LADAC preferred

Other Skills or Requirements:

  • Ability to work well within a team context with minimal direction
  • Good computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and other database reporting systems
  • Clean criminal background screening
  • Good organizational skills and ability to maintain paperwork in a timely manner
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with co-workers and the public
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to programming changes
  • Strong client engagement and assessment skills
  • Ability to utilize various methods while meeting the needs of vulnerable populations
