Job Summary

The Tennessee Department of Health (TDH) is accepting applications for a State Health Plan Coordinator position in the Office of Health Planning, located in Nashville, TN. The Office of Health Planning is housed within the Division of Health Strategy and Regulation and is tasked with multiple responsibilities including drafting, updating, and implementing the State Health Plan. The State Health Plan Coordinator will report directly to the State Health Plan Manager and support the implementation of the 2024-2026 State Health Plan and the development of future State Health Plans.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Design health communication materials to promote the State Health Plan and the State of Health report.
  • Create and issue the State Health Plan partner quarterly newsletter.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating meetings with external partners to further the recommendations of the State Health Plan.
  • Review and evaluate the State Health Plan development process to create an improvement plan for future State Health Plans.

Qualifications

Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Master’s degree in public health or related field OR bachelor’s degree in public health or related field with 2 years full-time relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Professionalism and the ability to maintain strong interpersonal relationships with staff, leadership, and external partners.
  • Preferred: Experience using design software such as Canva or Adobe Illustrator.

Position Details

  • This is a contract position with the State with dedicated funding through 2025, and potential extension through 2027.
  • Salary Range: $62,000-$72,000. Pay can be negotiated to include benefits and paid time off at the time of the contract.
  • This position will be hybrid, with approximately 2 days/week in an office in Nashville, TN.
