Job Summary

Working in support of the Senior Vice President of Philanthropy, Faith Relations Director, and Director of Regional Operations (the “Development Officers”), this individual will be responsible for contributing to the maximization of the sponsor and donor experiences in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville (HFHGN).  The Sponsor Relations Specialist will support the Development Officers in their stewardship of the build sponsors’ engagement with HFHGN across a five-county service area to maximize each sponsor’s Habitat experience.  

TIME REQUIREMENTS: 

This position is 40 hours per week with occasional overtime offered. The ability and willingness to work both Saturday and Sunday when required in this role, given the build schedule and the need to be on-site to deliver the Habitat experience, is essential.  

Job Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:  

SPONSOR FULFILLMENT 

  • Implement and deliver all aspects of the “Habitat Experience” for sponsors and donors in all five counties served by HFHGN. 
  • Serve as point person for the completion, submission, receipt, distribution, and tracking of Build Sponsor Agreements.  
  • Enter sponsor commitments into Salesforce; ensure they align with the specific home that they are supporting, and run reports related to the build campaigns. 
  • Follow up with sponsors to ensure sponsorship funds are received by HFHGN in a timely manner. 
  • Submit to sponsors the “Build Coordinator Form” to assist the Volunteer Experience Specialist in the creation of sponsor volunteer registration pages. 
  • Responsible for the continuous updates to the “Build Coordinator Guide” and other materials in the sponsor volunteer coordination packet. 
  • Track volunteer numbers for all sponsors at least 4 weeks prior to designated build experiences to ensure the agency properly support them in recruitment and that construction has on-target working numbers to prepare for the week’s tasks. 
  • Contact sponsors the week of their build to ensure they are prepared for the upcoming build and again the week following the build to ensure they had a positive experience and received photos from the build day. 
  • Ensure the Development Officers are made aware of status changes in a timely manner, if any, of build sponsors. 
  • Schedule pre and post-build meetings with build sponsors for the Development Officers and attend the meetings to support communication and follow-up 
  • Create a summary report from notes taken at post-build meetings as an evaluation of the build season 
  • Ensure Marketing receives requests in a timely manner for the production of all build site signage that contains sponsor logos. 
  • Coordinate with Marketing the production of sponsor montages and plaques and the delivery of them to the designated Development Officer for presentation to the sponsor. 
  • Notify sponsors of home dedication celebrations once a date is set.  Assist in securing a sponsor representative and provide attendee details to the Event Specialist.  Assist in any additional communications regarding the event as requested. 

ADDITIONAL DUTIES 

  • Assist Event Specialist with home dedications and other events as needed. 
  • Participate at the build site to welcome and integrate sponsors and volunteers. 
  • Serve as alternate build site Volunteer Experience Specialist as needed. 
  • Serves as the scanner of funds once received by the agency and the distribution of scanned funds reports. 
  • Handle special assignments and requests that benefit HFHGN objectives even when such projects require additional effort beyond standard working hours. 
  • Participate in the Annual Review Process. 
  • Participate in and support agency activities as requested by management. 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB: 

  • The ability to work well in support of the Development Officers on multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating excellent communication, organizational, and creative thinking skills. 
  • The ability to carry out computer-related skills, utilizing Microsoft 365, especially Outlook, Powerpoint Teams, and Salesforce 
  • Strong written communication, organizational, and administrative skills. 
  • Responsible for engaging with sponsors across a 5-county service area.  
  • Must have a valid driver’s license. 
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle with an insurable driving record. 
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A college degree is preferred; extensive work experience may be a substitute.    
  • Prior work experience in development, communications, and/or project planning required; 2-3 years related experience strongly preferred. 
  • Software proficiency in Teams, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required; the ability to quickly grasp and utilize Salesforce customer database software is essential.  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to bring energy, organization, creativity, and community relations expertise that will make a substantial positive impact on Habitat’s Sponsors and Donors while enhancing the image and positive relationships of Habitat.
