Job Summary

Purpose of the Position: Under general direction from the TACP Executive Director, provides analytical management assistance by planning, coordinating and directing programs, and special projects and performing related work as required such as responsibility for accounts receivable functions.

Job Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities/Duties:
1. Plans, organizes and coordinates various projects, programs and services including the Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation (TLEA) Program, the TACP Leadership Certification Program, and various additional programs as TACP continues to grow.
2. Administers and manages specific grant programs and/or services, including the Knoxville ICAC Grants, including evaluating requests and obtaining authorizations for training requests.
3. Coordinates the details of all travel arrangements and training registrations for ICAC training requests approved for grant expenditure/reimbursement by the Knoxville PD TN ICAC Taskforce Commander.
4. With coordination from the Knoxville PD ICAC Task Force, plans, manages and coordinates two TN ICAC Conferences a year by researching and determining hotel and event space, creating and sending out registration forms, processing per diem checks and coordinating a/v and space needs with the hotel.
5. Sends ICAC related news articles and updates to the TN ICAC Taskforce via email within the www.tnicac.org website. Adds relevant news articles to the website’s news page. Updates and maintains TN ICAC member list.
6. Prepares thorough, accurate, and organized grant reimbursement paperwork and assists with the details of grant administration, which include contracts with federal, state and local agencies.
9. Confers with departments, officials and consultants to explain policies and procedures regarding the Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation (TLEA) Program.
10. Works closely with the Professional Standards Committee to oversee TLEA program logistics. Prepares agendas, reports, and minutes for committee meetings. Coordinate updates to the TLEA program material (standards manual, sample policies and/or policy and procedure manual) as needed.
11. Assists in preparing STOP monthly invoices for submittal by the Executive Director to the state.
12. Supports the STOP grant by researching campus sexual violence trends and setting up training for campus law enforcement on the topic.
13. Manages the details of the TACP Leadership Certificate Program. Updates and manages the online application form and submissions. Works with Executive Director to review applications and create packets and agenda for the Leadership and Membership Development Committee.
14. Coordinates all functions of the Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation (TLEA) Program, including benchmark reporting, accreditation manager training sessions, assessor training sessions, including assisting with the training, and coordinating assessors for file reviews and on-site visits. Strategizes the coordination of onsite visits.
15. Oversees, manages, and generates invoices for payment of accreditation fees and dues for the Tennessee Law Enforcement Accreditation (TLEA) Program. Follows up on non-payment of funds.
16. Prepares for the bi-monthly meetings by coordinating training and travel for university committee members utilizing STOP grant funds, ordering food for the hospitality suite, managing preparation of reports for Professional Standards, University, and Leadership and Membership Development Committees.
17. Coordinates and manages the TACP Annual Silent Auction activities at the Annual Conference.
18. All other duties as needed or required.

Education/Experience/Knowledge
A combination of equivalent education and experience likely to provide the required knowledge and abilities is required. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be through the following:
Education: Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major course work in public or business administration or related field.
Experience: At least 3-5 years of non-profit, for-profit, or governmental administrative experience involving the analysis of administrative concerns and the development of policies and procedures.
Knowledge: Knowledge of the principles of public and business administration, including organization, personnel and fiscal management, and general analytical procedures. Working knowledge and proficiency in using a computer, including working proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Publisher.
Physical Requirements
Work is performed in a heated/air conditioned office. Occasional lifting required of up to 40 pounds. Travel to meetings at other locations with exposure to heat/cold is required.
