CFA Society of Nashville is the leading association of local investment professionals in Nashville, steeped in a rich history spanning over half a century. The non-profit organization has been serving Nashville and its surrounding cities since 1965. As a member society of the CFA Institute, CFA Society Nashville connects its members to a global network of investment professionals.

MISSION STATEMENT
To equip members to be leaders in our community by promoting the value of the CFA designation and facilitating the exchange of ideas and resources for the ultimate benefit of Middle Tennessee.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Society Administrator acts as an administrative generalist handling all of the day-to-day activities of the Society. This person reports to the Society’s Board of Directors and liaises closely with CFA Institute to ensure all operational commitments are met. This person is responsible for managing and executing Society programs and initiatives outlined in its strategic plan as directed by its Board of Directors; supporting governance initiatives; and managing relationships with key stakeholders including members, volunteers, sponsors, employers, universities, and others. This person demonstrates experience in project management, with skills necessary to: plan events; identify critical success factors for a project or program; and create appropriate schedules for timely and professional completion of meetings or events.

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Strategic Planning and Governance
● Develop and maintain work plans and Society Annual Calendar, including both programming/members events and Board business (meetings and submission deadlines for business plan/annual report/etc.)
● Monitor and advise Board and/or volunteers on governance structures including bylaws, roles review, authorities, and relationships
● Assist in preparations of Board and Key Committee meeting agendas/review packages, set meeting dates, and support the various chairs of committees of the Board in conducting assigned activities
● Participate in planning meetings with each of the established committees, accept special assignments, assist board members and provide support for all ongoing programs and operations as needed
● Serve as CFA Institute liaison and resource. Bring full offerings from CFAI to Nashville Society and Board members
● Conduct new volunteer & board member orientation

Programs & Services
● Facilitate planning of programming calendar, as part of Society Annual Calendar
● Develop individual programs in coordination with the Programming Committee of the Board, including the Society’s flagship Annual Forecast Dinner
● Oversee the implementation of all approved programs including recommendations of changes to the Board as needed
● Secure virtual or physical venue for events; negotiate contracts, menus, and ancillary services
● Identify and coordinate collaborative and reciprocal programming opportunities with CFA Institute, sister CFA Societies, and other related professional organizations (CFP, HCFA, etc.)
● Develop and distribute event communications, manage registration, track attendance, and assess member satisfaction
Financial Management
● In coordination with Board Treasurer, develop and manage budget and assist in preparation of financial reports to the Board
● Oversee and otherwise assist in managing expenses
● Nurture relationships with existing sponsors, while identifying and developing additional sponsorship and other revenue sources
Technology
● Manage technology solutions to meet business needs – Society email, member communications, registration portal, and liaise to CFA Institute’s learning portal
● Manage member and stakeholder database
● Assist in the periodic refreshment and maintenance of Society websites
● Manage and expand the Society’s social media presence to support member communications and increase Brand awareness

Outreach & Advocacy
● Execute outreach efforts to develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including key employers of existing and potential members, sponsors of Society events, universities, local media, and other relevant organizations in the area.
● Create and maintain outreach materials (society fact sheet, sponsorship packages)
● Maintain database and history of outreach efforts

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS
● Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
● Demonstrated experience in project management, with skills necessary to: plan events; identify critical success factors for a project or program; and create appropriate schedules for timely and professional completion of meetings or events
● Must demonstrate outstanding stewardship, relationship building, management and communication skills
● High energy self-starter with ability to operate independent of direct supervision
● Excellent interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills
● Preferred proficiency in Salesforce and Cvent; training opportunities available
● Create, distribute and manage content on various social media sites

Time Commitment and Flexibility
● Ability to put in the hours of concentrated work, as necessary, to execute plans and conduct programs while maintaining a positive attitude
● Work week averaging 15 hours per week with occasional high effort weeks driven by events and programs
