Job Summary

The Social Media and Digital Marketing Specialist will be responsible for increasing brand awareness through the effective use of social media outlets and overseeing The Upper Room’s interactions by creating social media campaigns and the day-to-day management of the organization’s social media properties. The role will build and execute social media marketing plans to increase brand awareness, generate leads and sales, grow our audiences, boost engagement within our communities, and drive traffic to our sites through various social media and digital platforms.

Job Responsibilities

Employ social media management techniques, technologies, and tools to assist with automation, content scheduling and publishing, social listening, commenting and engagement, customer care, analytics and reporting, monitoring mentions, etc.

  1. Communicate with social media followers, including responding to queries in a timely manner.
  2. Build and strengthen brand communities to engage content, share our products, services, and content with others.

Create, manage, and curate engaging digital content, maintain complete social profiles, and  organize content calendars.

  1. Administer the creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality content for all channels and ads.
  2. Translate concepts, ideas, and documents into appealing and engaging digital content to be used for both social and web platforms in coordination with the marketing team.

Research social media trends and inform management of changes that are relevant to the organization’s marketing activities.

Manage paid social advertising campaigns and coordinate various digital ads and web content across internal platforms.

  1. Assist with posting website content, such as articles and blogs, as needed.


Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

2-3 years of social media marketing and content management experience including planning and managing content in a corporate, or agency setting.
