Job Summary

The SOBP Editorial Coordinator supports PMG’s goals, values and philosophy by exhibiting the following behaviors: excellence, quality service, commitment and accountability. As a member of the PMG team, performance includes demonstration of the following accountabilities: communication, teamwork and job knowledge. The Editorial Assistant completes assigned administrative duties that support the Journal.

Job Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES, include the following but are not limited to:
• Receive and evaluate new manuscript submissions
• Assign new manuscript submissions according to conflict-of-interest policy
• Communicate with authors and editors as necessary
• Learn other aspects of Editorial Office work, and fill in as necessary for other staff during leave.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS Required:
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Previous experience working with in academic, preferably scientific, publishing.
• Knowledge of publication management software.

Other Skills:
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Mastery of Microsoft Office software.
• Must be well organized, have the ability to handle multiple assignments, and pay close attention to details.
