Job Summary
The Senior Accountant supports the general ledger accounting functions for a 501(c)(6) organization and its related chapters, a 501(c)(3) organization, and a political action committee. Responsibilities include preparation of month-end close journal entries, bank reconciliations and other balance sheet reconciliations, job-cost reconciliation, and maintenance of fixed asset records.
This position is responsible for annual compliance filings, including 1099’s and personal property tax returns, and provides support for the annual audit. The Senior Accountant also assists the Controller with the preparation of annual budgets.
Job Responsibilities
- Records all month-end journal entries for the TSCPA, seven chapters, and Educational & Memorial Foundation
- Prepares all month-end balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintains accurate fixed asset records
- Assists with the preparation of Form 1099s for TSCPA, Educational & Memorial Foundation, and seven chapters
- Prepares annual chapter dues projections and coordinates with chapters on dues rates and annual budgets
- Administers the Life Associates Program
- Serves as primary point of contact for TSCPA Chapter Treasurers
- Responsible for all accounting and reporting for the TN CPA PAC
- Ensures that all accounting files are properly maintained in accordance with established record retention schedule
Qualifications
Must have a thorough understanding of general ledger accounting and the ability to complete assigned tasks by established due dates. Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are a must. Experience with payroll is a plus.
2+ years of experience and a bachelor’s degree are preferred. CPA is a plus.
