Job Summary

The individual who holds this position manages a contract with the State of Tennessee for the Tennessee Family Support Program in Rutherford County, Tennessee. The position is currently classified as a Permanent Part-Time Position, but there are some months when it is necessary to work up to 40 hours per week due to increased workload during these periods. The position is a self-directed job, with considerable flexibility. Training for the position will be provided.

Job Responsibilities

Among Job Responsibilities include the following:

  • Accepting applications for Tennessee Family Support funding for Rutherford County
  • Ascertaining eligibility for the program and maintaining documentation of eligibility for each applicant
  • Assisting families/individuals in the development of Family Support Program Service plans
  • Entering and maintaining significant information in the Family Support Program database, including financial data for service distributions
  • Ensuring the efficient operation of the Family Support Council by assisting the Family Support Council Chair and committee members with a variety of supports, and through preparation of materials for regular council meetings
  • Preparation of reports for UCP and for state contract purposes
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable governmental regulations for program operations
  • Meeting standards of best practice in service delivery

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree preferred, but in limited cases, life experience may be substituted. We are seeking applicants who have a combination of skills, reliable community-based connections and basic know-how. Individuals who have filled this position in the past have lived in Rutherford County and worked from home. While living in Rutherford County is not an absolute requirement, we are looking for people who have strong connections to the community as well as the ability to coordinate activities and services within the community. Office space is available in our Nashville office, if needed.

We are seeking applicants with the capacity to manage detailed monthly activities with established deadlines, the ability to adhere to contractual program requirements, and individuals who have a strong commitment to serving people with disabilities and their family members.

Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office software is a must. Experience with Microsoft Access is a plus, but not an absolute requirement, as the successful applicant will be trained in using the UCP database.
