Job Summary
Work with families experiencing homelessness to ensure immediate access to shelter is available and community resources are provided for families. Support families in crisis and conduct analysis of the family’s needs to coordinate activities and resources to ensure a successful transition to a rapid rehousing program. Provide operational support and inventory support to program team and operations.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate quickly with partner agencies when a family has been identified that needs immediate shelter access
- Handle logistics of getting a family moved into a shelter/hotel including arranging transportation and delivery of immediate needs such as food and hygiene products
- Enroll family in our community’s database, HMIS
- Follow up to meet ongoing needs of school enrollments, food and other resources
- Train other community partners and outreach workers on process to access this resource
- Develop hotel partnerships to use for immediate sheltering space
- Enter/update information in Salesforce database
- Provide operation and program support as needed
- Help receive and sort inventory donations
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field
- One year social services experience (either professional or volunteer)
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects
- Excellent organization skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong customer service orientation (“customers” include staff, volunteers, board members, and clients)
- Good computer skills
- Ability to work with minimal direction
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work Environment: Office and community setting.
- Must be able to sit / stand for 8 hours.
- Walking, bending, light lifting up to 25 lbs.
