Job Summary

Theology Together educates teenagers and youth workers together to engage in theological reflection, spiritual practice, vital service, and vocational discernment, producing reflective action embedded in the fabric of youth ministry in all its contexts.   Theology Together is an experience-driven paradigm for youth ministry that positions teens as theologians. The power of youth as theologians leads to innovative, relevant, and growth-minded youth ministries because youth have the space to enter into robust theological dialogues. We help you enter into this paradigm through a robust set of tools—curriculum, training, events, and resources. Theology Together was launched in 2013 when the Center for Youth Ministry Training (CYMT) received a $240,000 grant from the Lilly Endowment, Inc. In 2020, the Lilly Endowment provided a second grant to expand the scope of Theology Together.  The Lab has engaged over 1200 adults and teenagers across the country in our Wow Theological Reflection process.

The Center for Youth Ministry Training equips leaders and communities of faith to develop innovative, effective, and theologically informed ministries so youth may experience the love and grace of Jesus Christ, leading to identity and purpose. The CYMT accomplishes this mission through three primary initiatives: the Graduate Residency in Youth Ministry in partnership with Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary; Theology Together; and the Innovation Laboratory. CYMT was created in 2006.

CYMT knows that diversity in race, theology and experiences shapes communities of faith and creates unique contexts for ministry. That’s why we’re actively and intentionally prioritizing diversity of all forms among our staff, residents and ministry partners. We are still learning and growing, but if you share our passion and love for young people, you will find welcome at CYMT.

Resource Coordinator Objective:  To oversee the development of resources associated with the Theology Together program. To provide resource direction and enact implementation strategies that create resources for the CYMT community, larger youth ministry community, and communities of faith.
