Job Summary

Provides a range of psychological assessment, diagnostic, therapeutic, and/or case management services for youth and families in a residential group home setting that serves at-risk teenage boys. The facility is licensed by the Department of Children’s Services. Responsible for the development and implementation of an Evidence-Based Behavior Program and must have a working knowledge of a Performance-Based Contract, to include TFACTS. Provide quality assurance to ensure best practice is implemented according to the agency’s standards and policies and procedures. Must have some training experience, and able to train staff as needed. This individual will work under the direct guidance and supervision of the Executive Program Director.

Job Responsibilities

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for the coordination of program services by work with agency staff and community.

Responsible for the coordination of regulatory compliance with state and federal mandates for agency’s programs, collect outcome-based data, and quality control of programs to include, MFH (residential group home), TFACTS, and Performance-Based Contracting data entries.

Responsible for monitoring compliance and performance on state and federal documentation; monthly audits of Direct Care documentation, medication/administrative record sheets, case record reviews, facilities/vehicle checklist, and other audits as assigned. Report deficiencies to the Executive Program Director. Assist with intake/assessments, residential clients, families, and support programs that may need additional training or support.

Responsible for assisting with agency pre-service training requirements and making changes as needed to change policy and procedures. Assist with coordination and development of annual staff trainings.

Provides counseling to residents and family as appropriate to position; prepares treatment plant, discharge plans, and follow-up care plans; provides crisis intervention and emergency services as needed.

Collects data about patients through interviews, case history, psychological tests, and/or observational techniques; evaluates data to identify the cause of behavior issues and to determine proper therapeutic approach or referral to a specialist.

Provides casework management for a specialized aseload; perform research and case assessments; prepares individualized studies for admission, placement, and/or discharge.

Provides for therapeutic interventions as appropriate for residents in a crisis condition and for those with serious disturbance problems. Makes recommendations regarding modification to services and service delivery.

Consults with other legal and treatment agencies in relation to client records, rights, and responsibilities.

Consults with therapists and related professional and paraprofessional staff in the performance of casework.

Participates in the review of clinical issues and program policies and procedures.

Participates in and coordinates training sessions and workshops with staff to enhance treatment skills.

May lead paraprofessionals in performance of direct support duties.

Responsible for coordination of residents’ school enrollments, IEP meetings, and other school-related issues pertaining to residents.

Works directly with child care workers to coordinate resident schedules, appointments, treatment, etc.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in the field of social work or related field and at least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in direct services for individuals, families and/or children. Preference for experience with residential group homes that serve teenage youth.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Requires sitting 1⁄2 to 3⁄4 of the work day. Walking, climbing stairs, standing and stooping. Continuous use of office equipment; often requiring repetitive wrist/hand movement and vision. Must able to safely transport residents to appointments, school and other activities using agency vehicle or personal vehicle.
