Job Summary


The Research Institute at Cumberland Heights Foundation is charged with the overall management of all research initiatives system wide. The research team is responsible for the execution of all major components of qualitative and quantitative research projects in health services research, public health, psychology, biostatistics, or related disciplines.

Job Responsibilities


  1. Assist in the publication of research projects and participate in the preparation of written reports and oral presentations summarizing data analysis results, including detailed description of statistical methods, detailed analysis of results, and synthesis of conclusions from summary tables.
  2. Use quantitative and qualitative research skills to assist in leading research projects. Provides project management for completion of large multi-site research projects.
  3. Collaborate as a member of a research team on complex clinical research data management and reporting.
  4. Assist in the process of cleaning, manipulating, validating, and curating our research databases.
  5. Assist the research team in the coding of data dictionaries, design of case report forms, questionnaires, and other data collection instruments.
  6. In collaboration with our development team, help to build, test, and deploy electronic data capture systems for clinical research and participate in the construction of operations and procedures for the collection, editing, verification and management of data.
  7. Generate summary reports and descriptive statistics to support study operations.
  8. Assist in providing statistical expertise on research projects.
  9. Implement planned analysis under supervision, including data verification and data correction as necessary, using one or more systems of computer hardware and statistical analysis software for the management and analysis of data.
  10. Develop and maintain knowledge of scholarly activity pathways in psychology, addiction medicine, behavioral health, data science, and the health care environment.
  11. Ensures that a welcoming, safe, and healing environment is maintained for each patient and family throughout the continuum of care.
  12. Maintains confidentiality of company and patient information.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.



  1. Advanced skills with Statistical Software (R or Python) required
  2. Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) required
  3. Advanced ability to create and deliver effective presentations required
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively with all levels required
  5. Advanced technical writing skills associated with peer-reviewed manuscript development required



  • Master’s Degree from an accredited program providing training in a research related field, psychology, statistics, biostatistics, computer science or related field required
  • Doctoral Degree from an accredited program providing training in a research related field, psychology, statistics, biostatistics, computer science or related field preferred
  • Coursework in Biostatistics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science preferred
  • Experience in authoring or assisting in the authorship of manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals required
  • Experience in health services research environment preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience using Statistical Software (R or Python) required
  • At least 2 years of experience using visualization applications (PowerBI, Tableau, Shiny) preferred



Ability to lift 20 lbs.

If recovering, one year of verifiable abstinence required with five years preferred.





Hybrid (Office/Home) setting that involves everyday risks or discomforts requiring normal safety precautions.  Position is subject to occasional evening and weekend work and occasional travel.
