Job Summary
SCORE seeks a data-driven and results-oriented professional to join the research and innovation team as a Data and Research Analyst. This role will support efforts to analyze trends, identify gaps, and visualize data to communicate key insights with SCORE’s diverse audience. The Data and Research Analyst will play a critical role in advancing the organization’s work by contributing relevant data and research expertise to projects across the K-12 to workforce continuum. This position reports to the Director of Data.
Job Responsibilities
- Compile and analyze data to support SCORE’s policy, strategic practice, and advocacy agenda
- Ensure that data are collected efficiently and effectively, as well as acquired from secondary sources with attention to data security
- Translate data to generate highly visual and user-friendly data reports for public dissemination to a diverse set of stakeholders
- Track and analyze data released by state and national partners to identify areas in need of improved data quality and transparency
- Conduct regular reviews of emerging research across the education-to-work continuum to identify trends that could benefit Tennessee and source ideas for system improvement
- Support the design and development of research projects, reports, and initiatives to advance SCORE’s strategic priorities
Qualifications
- Understanding of the education field and education policy, including a strong working knowledge of education research trends, methods, and sources
- Knowledge of the national and Tennessee education landscape is preferred
- Experience analyzing and visualizing data — including experience with large datasets — with a focus on translating complex datasets into highly accessible visualizations and/or dashboard
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required
- Experience with other analytics programs or dashboarding software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, etc.) is ideal
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Nimble and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment that may require quick turnarounds in data analysis
- Ability to problem solve in the moment and proactively consult and collaborate with other team members as appropriate
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills to move projects forward and clearly communicate both internally with team members, as well as with outside stakeholders
