Position Summary:  The Account Manager contributes to the efforts of United Way of Greater Nashville, specifically in Clarksville (Montgomery, Stewart, and Houston Counties) and Dickson, by building relationships through year-round engagement with investors, partners, advocates, and volunteers to increase funding for UWGN’s programs in the areas of Health, Education, and Financial Stability, which allows UWGN to continue its mission.   

We are seeking candidates with relationships in the Greater Clarksville area since this role supports the fundraising in that community and Dickson County.

UWGN currently has a hybrid work model with the option to work from home two days a week. This position will be expected to attend bi-weekly fundraising team meetings at the United Way of Greater Nashville office (250 Venture Circle) but will work primarily out of the Clarksville office.

Job Responsibilities

Account Management Tasks:

  • Plan, develop, and execute successful workplace fundraising campaigns within existing campaign partners with the purpose of increasing campaign revenue and building a sustainable pipeline of giving.
  • Prospect and cultivate new business relationships to convert into revenue for the organization through campaigns, corporate gifts, sponsorships, and special events.
  • Focus on re-engaging accounts that have stepped back within the last 3 years
  • Prospect individual donors and collaborate with the Associate Director of Leadership Engagement and Senior Director of Donor Engagement to convert prospects into donors.
  • Maintain up-to-date records on donors and corporate accounts in the database to ensure clear communication with both the fundraising team and the Greater Clarksville Executive Director.
  • Work collaboratively with other United Way departments across all counties.
  • Work collaboratively with the Greater Clarksville team, specifically with input from the Executive Director, to adapt overall strategy to fit the Clarksville and Dickson County audiences.
  • Represent United Way in the community through networking events and organizations.
  • Strategically align corporate partners with United Way in a way that fits their corporate social responsibility needs.
  • Create, manage, and improve all aspects of the campaign; plan for each individual account and document the process.
  • Promote and motivate individuals within your portfolio to participate in volunteer opportunities and organizational events.
  • Collaborate with the Clarksville team to support and execute events specific to the Clarksville region such as Annual Meetings, and volunteer and fundraising initiatives.
  • Be flexible to attend potential early/late campaign events and meetings.
  • Be flexible to attend ad-hoc campaign events based on the company’s needs.
  • Deliver presentations to explain who United Way is, what United Way does, and how United Way creates an impact in the community.

Shared Administrative Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answer telephone and greet visitors to the office
  • Direct callers and visitors to appropriate organization(s) for assistance
  • Assist with the arrangement and implementation of special campaign and office events
  • Work with finance to ensure up-to-date records and processing for both individual and corporate donors.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 3-5 years equivalent business, sales, or non-profit development experience

 Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands:

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The employee is required to stand, walk, climb, and balance.
  • The employee spends the majority of time seated, working in front of a computer monitor.  Manual dexterity is sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers.
  • Well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
