Job Summary

Catholic Charities is seeking candidates for the position of Refugee Trauma Therapist. This is a full-time position based in Davidson County. The ability to work a flexible schedule with late afternoon and evening hours to meet client’s needs is essential. Office location is 2806 McGavock Pike, Nashville, TN.

Job Responsibilities

This program provides office-based therapy and support services to individuals and families who have experienced trauma.  The main function of this position will be providing trauma informed individual and family counseling, formulating, and implementing treatment plan for each case and adjusts plan as needed in carrying out pre-determined goals with client.   

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field
• Substantial knowledge/experience working with trauma
• 2+ years of clinical experience
• Licensed or in pursuit of licensure

Other Skills or Requirements:

• Ability to work well as a team and independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to facilitate intercultural communication and to create an environment where differences are respected.
• Ability to use good judgement, curtesy, and tact in dealing with the public and staff.
• Good computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and ability to learn additional skills as necessary

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Clean criminal background screening
• Good organizational skills and ability to maintain paperwork in a timely manner

• Ability to handle confidential information with extreme professionalism.
• Flexible work hours- primary schedule in late afternoon and evening
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and independently with minimal direction.
• Knowledge and experience in trauma related issues
• Bilingual fluency in any refugee language is preferred
• Able to work effectively and professionally with interpreters
