Job Summary

The Tennessee Office of Refugees is looking for a Refugee Career Pathways Program Coordinator. The primary function of this position is responsibility for the overall administration of the Refugee Career Pathways (RCP) program including the implementation of a work plan in collaboration with educational partners; coordination and collaboration with subgrantee staff, workforce development resources, and financial assistance providers; gathering and reporting data and outcome information; and ensuring compliance with all program guidelines and reporting requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Providing technical assistance and training to subgrantee staff on participant eligibility, and RCP program enrollment, and disseminating best practices.
  • Monitoring enrollment procedures and service delivery statewide to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, and required program components.
  • Assisting in evaluating the RCP program statewide and suggesting changes to program design and structure.
  • Preparing semi-annual and as-needed reports as requested.
  • Promoting coordination and planning among refugee service providers and resettlement agencies to ensure the most effective provision of career development services to refugees in Tennessee.
  • Developing and maintaining statewide RCP-specific materials including programmatic policies and procedures, specialized curriculum, and direct financial assistance documentation.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of statewide RCP data collection and reporting systems.
  • Serving as the primary contact for the provision of RCP services in the state.
  • Supporting the development of guidance and implementation of systems for direct assistance payments and documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate client and program records regarding service provided according to Agency guidelines, using the Agency database and within the Agency timeframe.
  • Actively participating in supervision sessions, periodic team meetings, and training.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree and four years of related work experience preferred.
  • Experience working in the fields of refugee services, workforce development and career planning, and/or vocational English instruction preferred.

Other Skills or Requirements:

  • Ability to interpret and adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Effective in-person and virtual interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Salesforce applications, internet research, and a high comfort level in working with computer systems.
  • Exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact in dealing with the public, and in giving and obtaining information.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to adhere to confidentiality standards.
  • Ability to focus on details and ensure accuracy in reporting and giving information.
  • Ability to establish priorities while working on multiple projects.
  • Cordial in working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to follow tasks through to completion.
  • Able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel out of town (in-state) as needed.
  • Knowledge of the field of refugee resettlement and/or career pathways development is helpful.
