Job Summary

Nashville CARES is seeking an experienced, creative, and motivated Public Relations & Social Media Manager to join our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing our marketing & communications strategy with the goal of growing our online presence, strengthening our brand awareness, and improving overall marketing efforts. This position will report to the Director of Marketing & Communications.

Job Responsibilities

Primary Job Responsibilities:

PUBLIC RELATIONS

  • Build upon existing media relationships to help further promote the agency.
  • Leverage the story of Nashville CARES to help increase public awareness of our programming and fundraising efforts.
  • Lead the effort in building community brand awareness.
  • Manage event and agency press releases, media alerts and event press coverage.
  • Work with the Marketing & Communications Director to implement the crisis communications plan.
  • Create and implement an annual public relation’s strategic plan that aligns with the agency’s strategic plan.

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • Manage social media accounts and create original, high-quality content on various platforms including, but not limited to, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and TikTok.
  • Create video content for use on Reels and TikTok.
  • Manage reviews on all social media platforms.
  • Measure the results of social media campaigns and adjust strategy based on findings
  • Define most important social media KPIs.
  • Regularly curate new content from all programs across the agency for social media.
  • Work with Department leadership and team to develop, implement and manage an annual social media strategy.
  • Stay up to date with latest social media best practices and technologies and adhere to legal rules and regulations on all platforms.
  • Present monthly insights, trends, analytics and KPI dashboard to the Development team and leadership.

INTERNAL & EXTERNAL ONLINE OUTLETS

  • Work with our web management team to monitor SEO and user engagement and suggest content optimization for agency website
  • Work with Marketing & Communications Director to keep agency website content fresh and current.
  • Post agency events on community calendars (i.e., various Chambers, DO615, Wannado, Now Playing Nashville, etc)
  • Manage our Google My Business account monitoring comments and questions.

Qualifications

 Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in marketing and social media
  • Expertise in multiple social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Ads
  • Good understanding of social media KPIs
  • Experience creating organic posts, deploying, monitoring, and managing social media and paid social media ads
  • Understanding of current social media trends, platforms, and dashboards
  • Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics
  • Social media advertising knowledge, including campaign creation, management, and metrics reporting
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Creative and critical thinker with a passion for helping others
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to coordinate and balance multiple projects in a time-sensitive environment, under pressure, and meeting deadlines
  • Experience with creative tools such as Canva, InDesign, Photoshop, etc
  • Demonstrated familiarity with computers and MS Office software (Outlook, Word) and effective time management and organization skills
  • Valid Tennessee Driver’s License, vehicle, and automobile liability insurance

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Media, Communications, or related field with emphasis on public relations, social media, and other digital channels.
  • Experience in a nonprofit environment.
  • Experience with digital fundraising tools such as Classy, Emma, and Bloomerang.
  • Command of social media workflow, monitoring and measurement tools.
  • Basic graphic design experience (Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign/Canva).
